ABOUT

Hi, I am Sun, a scenic designer and scenic artist originally from Beijing, China. I became increasingly in how theatrical space shapes perception and emotional experience, leading me to integrate projection and immersive spatial concepts into my desin practice. After received my B.A. in Theatre design, production, and technology. Minor in Econ in the University of Illinois Chicago, and pursued graduate training at Purdue University.

‍Recent design credits include scenic design for Broadway-style musical productions at Stagedoor Manor 2026. I worked as a scenic artist at Stagedoor Manor bringing a scenic designer’s perspective to the execution of productions 2025. I worked and studied at Studio Kloak, expanding my interdisciplinary design practice through furniture design and material experimentation, where I received the first award within the filed 2024. I previously worked with Poly Theatre in Beijing on the Broadway Asia production of An American in Paris. And I early experiences in opera introduced my to expressive possibilities of space and performance.‍
